The Open... or Save as... commands generate the popup dialog:
Note that file name extensions must end with .melts.
To Open or Save a file

Select the appropriate directory by double clicking in the Directory List or modifying the Filter string and clicking on the Filter button.
Select the file by highlighting the appropriate name or by typing the name at the end of the string in the selection box.
Click on the OK button to close the dialog box.
